After reading a lot of confessions on this blog about how they thought Pitch’s punishment at the end wasn’t fair, while rewatching the movie I happened to notice the moment of shock Jack had when Pitch found out he was invisible again. It really showed me that the two of them still share a very special connection, and that Jack believes that even someone like Pitch deserves to be believed in. He is such a selfless and compassionate Guardian. That’s why I really, really, love Jack Frost.

OKAY, JUST TAKE A MOMENT AND LOOK AT THE BODY LANGUAGE IN THIS GIF! ( Even though it’s not the best quality on it.) Both Jack and Pitch are sighing at the same time, but why?

The way their shoulders slightly but heavily sink down, while breathing out air… at the same time.

Jack is sighing because he has to give into Pitch’s black mailing. 

But why do Pitch mimic Jack’s movement? Is it by the fact that he’s still hurt that Jack rejected him? Or is it just the “tension” between them at the very moment?

Well, I have a better quality gif saved on my computer of this, but it didn’t work when I tried to post it on tumblr, so I basically found this one by google searching around a little.

But anyway, in the movie, I even think Pitch’s expression here is… hurt. However the moment when he takes the staff, and Jack looks up at him, his face changes into a malice smirk.

…That makes me wonder… what would Pitch’s expression been, if Jack had looked him in the eyes while handing over the staff.

Would he still have kept the hurt expression on his face? No, I don’t think so…

Because you could clearly see he was hurt when Jack turned his back and began walking away after rejecting him, but then in the next moment got angered and revengeful. I think Pitch hides his emotions, making sure to keep up the image as the mighty, fearless King of Nightmares, with no weaknesses…

But even Pitch has feelings! … I wonder though, how much time he spends to really listen to his own emotions, or if he mostly pushes them away, because he’s “supposed” to be strong and fearless.
